The 5 Best Places to Shop for Plus-Size Clothes Right Now
In a dream world, you'd be able to walk into any store, fall in love with any piece and pick it up in any size. And while we're getting closer to that reality for ladies above a size 12 (thank you, Old Navy extended sizing!), you usually still have to go to a separate section or store. So it's always helpful to have a short list of places you can always count on for trendy, stylish pieces. Here are my (your resident size-16 fashion editor's) favorite plus-size brands.
While this may seem like a supremely obvious choice (mall store, been around forever, yeah yeah), I ask you this: Have you been in one lately? Not only has Lane Bryant upped its style ante in general (their activewear is especially solid), but it also just brought on Prabal Gurung for a special spring collection. Try to find a better plus-size moto jacket.
Gone are the days of "plus-size fashion" meaning bad dress slacks and bolero cardigans stuffed in the back corner of a department store. Thankfully new brands—like online site Eloquii—are bringing a fresh perspective to designs up to a size 24. And by "fresh perspective," I mean cute clothes that smaller ladies have always had.

Now, let's talk about those aforementioned extended sizes. Old Navy has saved my butt, literally, during dozens of shopping trips. I'm not usually my current weight, but as I've gained over the last few years (whatever, life happens), I can always count on Old Navy to have the exact layering staples I need—be that in a size 10 or a size 20—as well as some cute seasonal prints I add into my outfit rotation.

A shopper-friendly and versatile site, ASOS largely stocks its own in-house brand (ASOS Curve) but also peppers in the likes of Boohoo and Missguided. Though it sells everything from outerwear to intimates, I come to ASOS when I'm in need of a quick trendy hit, like a fabulous party jumpsuit or a blush peg-leg suit.
And then sometimes you just need a place to stock up on everyday essentials. FullBeauty.com might not be the snazziest of websites, it does sell the likes of Melissa McCarthy Seven7 and Violeta by Mango, so you can mix and match to your credit card's content.
