Here at PureWow, we like our stripes--a lot. So when we heard that one of our favorite style guys, interior designer and blogger Mark D. Sikes, had designed a women’s clothing line made up of nothing but blue-and-white horizontals, we gasped collectively.
Sikes’s just-released collection, M.D.S. Stripes, reflects the designer’s preoccupation with the good life, including preppy, tailored pieces like a wide-striped T-shirt with gold shoulder buttons ($125), which would look at home at a yacht club. (Though more likely, we’ll be sporting it at Gelson’s.)
The floaty tie-neck dress ($225) is the perfect travel garment, since you can jazz it up with jewelry for evening, then wear it as a pool cover-up the next day. And a sexy sheath ($185) goes with everything from Gucci loafers to high-heeled sandals.
But our all-time favorite part of M.D.S. Stripes is the collection of kerchief-sized cotton scarves ($38), which come in nine styles including some solids. We’ll wear them tied to our bag or, channeling Jackie O., on our head.
