Up Your Pajama Game
Preppy sleepwear for bedtime and brunch
During these long, cold nights, it’s nice to know you have something to cocoon with besides hot tea and Netflix.
That would be Sleepy Jones, the luxury pajama brand with a new Santa Monica store.
Sleepy Jones jammies are as well made as a designer silk shirt: quality brushed cotton, French seams (i.e., raw edges are neatly sewn under) and piping befitting a Frette pillowcase. As for the aesthetic, it’s preppy with a pop of cool; what the Royal Tennenbaums might sport if they hosted a sleepover.
All the styles--conceived by menswear creative guru Andy Spade’s design team---are meant to be worn not just for lounging around the house, but also, when paired with a blazer, outside of it. There’s even a party-ready pair: Artist-filmmaker Mike Mills’s pjs (from $148), emblazoned with pictures of his friends’ sleeping pills, are a surefire conversation-starter.
That is, if you can muster up the energy to actually leave the house.
