How to Bundle Up for Winter in Style
Feel warm and look great? It’s possible, people
Penélope Cruz is one of our style icons. The Michelin Man? Not so much. So this winter, we’re going to make every effort to avoid dressing like him--afreezing lakeside winds be damned. Here are seven tips for making it through the frigid season in style, without sacrificing warmth.
GO AHEAD: FLUFF UP THE PUFF
Pick a puffer with fur around the collar to draw attention to your shoulders and not your midsection. Which, let’s face it: may be swathed in two sweaters.

UNZIP AND LAYER OVER KNITS
…And roll up those sleeves so the cuffs can peek out. Who looks artfully disheveled now?
Get the look: Zara ($119)
BRIGHTEN IT UP
We get it: Black is slimming. But instead of going all black like the rice at Union Sushi (mmm), try wearing dark clothing under a bold-colored puffer. Bonus points for red.
Get the look: Moose Knuckles ($795)
SCHEDULE YOUR ACCESSORIZING
Don’t pile it all on at once. On warmer mornings, go accessory-free in a lighter coat. Then layer up with a sweater, scarf, hat and gloves as the evening gets cooler.
Get the look: Burberry ($595)
SAY YES TO THE STOVEPIPE SILHOUETTE
Sometimes puffy is unavoidable. And it’s OK to embrace the bulk. (Just promise you’ll pair it with skinny jeans.)
