Fall’s Top Runway Trends to Nab for Less
Your shopping list starts here
There’s something about the onset of September that immediately makes us want to shop. And see fall foliage. But mostly shop.
Blame it on the changing seasons, the start of Fashion Month or the onslaught of magazines that weigh more than our pup--whatever it is, it’s unavoidable.
Luckily, there are plenty of ways to incorporate all the season’s top trends without spending a fortune. Take a peek at our fall shopping guide to get started.
1. Suede A-Line Skirt
Jutting out from the hips to form a triangle, the shape of the A-line skirt is nothing new. In fact, you’ve been wearing it for years. But the resurgence of this skirt in fabrics like suede makes it a heavy hitter for fall 2015. Wear yours with a fitted turtleneck, tights and structured knee-high boots to complete the look.
2. Flared Denim
This season, if there is one item you can buy (or dig out of your closet) that will make you perfectly on trend, it’s a pair of flared jeans. Not to be confused with boot-cut or wide-legged denim, flares become wider from the knee down and make your legs look miles long. Tip: Wear stacked heels--you want to be ’70s chic, not all-out trippy. (Get it?)
3. Top-Handle Lady Bag
If there’s anything in your closet worthy of a splurge, it’s an everyday handbag. And this season, the structured top-handle purse is making a play for that coveted spot. Featured on fall/winter ’15 runways ranging from Louis Vuitton to Christian Siriano, this bag can also be found in many different iterations, such as Mansur Gavriel’s backpack version and Loeffler Randall’s Rider bag.
