Dressbarn’s Pop-Up Dressbar Is Worth a Look
Once in a strip mall, now on Fifth Avenue
What?s the first word that comes to mind when you think of Dressbarn?
Strip mall? Mother-of-the-bride? Maybe, you?re at a loss for words? Yeah, us, too.
That is until we strolled into Dressbar, the brand?s new concept shop at 102 Fifth Avenue (at 15th Street).
Available online, at select Dressbarn locations and at the Flatiron pop-up, Dressbar puts a fresh spin on the occasion and work-appropriate dresses the company was previously known for by teaming with runway designers Carmen Marc Valvo, Adrianna Papell and Heidi Weisel to create three exclusive collaborations.
Ladies, this is nothing like a Target collab.
The pop-up (open ?til May 31) is beautifully laid out (with flowers everywhere) and feels just as luxe as your favorite boutique--except the goods are crazy affordable. Everything retails from $42 to $70, with sizes ranging from 2 to 24.
We?re counting down the days until we can wear this Carmen Marc Valvo frock ($58), which we scored for a song compared with his runway collection. Heidi Weisel?s eyelet number ($58) also tops our list, and if designer Michael Smaldone for Adrianna Papell is good enough for the first lady, he?s definitely good enough for us.
With everyone from Banana Republic to Chico?s getting a face-lift these days, we?re excited about adding this one to our list.
