With Santa’s arrival just around the corner, your kiddos are likely to be even more antsy than usual. Encourage their holiday spirit with a cute elf hat project that will keep them busy for the rest of the afternoon.
What You Need:
- One sheet green felt
- One sheet yellow felt
- A feather
- A dark marker
- Fabric glue
Step 1: Fold the green felt in half and trace a slightly curved line about five inches from one of the folded corners.
Step 2: Cut out the base of the hat and unfold the felt. Draw a thin line of glue along the flat edge and fold over once again to seal the hat. Set aside to dry.
Step 3: Take the yellow felt and your marker. Trace and cut out an arch shape.
Step 4: Draw a thin line of glue along one side of the arch and wrap it around the hat about half an inch from the base. (Don’t worry if the ends are too long; you can snip them right off.)
Step 5: Stick a feather in the yellow band and wait for the glue to dry. Ta-da: a little elf hat that's perfect for playing holiday dress-up.
