Bed and Brainstorm
A new hotel in the heart of Silicon Valley
No matter how much we bemoan the tech takeover or Google’s shiny white commuter buses, we all secretly want a sliver of the start-up pie.
But if joining Apple’s superhuman task force isn’t in the cards, you can at least plan your next Silicon Valley business meeting at the new Epiphany Hotel, right next door to Facebook’s first HQ.
It’s one of only two hotels to open downtown in more than a decade--and it just got a tech-savvy build-out that nods to the history of invention.
For starters, the lobby features a light installation made with Edison-style bulbs and an “incubator” networking area designed by local think tank Ideo. There are also coworking spaces throughout the hotel, designed to promote brainstorming and collaboration. Heck, there’s even a dedicated technology concierge for that pesky HDMI hookup that just won’t work.
Though you can, of course, just stop by for a board meeting or a barrel-aged negroni at the bar, we suggest making a night of it and booking a room. After all, it doesn’t get much more Silicon Valley than luxuriating in Frette sheets while streaming movies using your in-room G-Link dock.
Rooms start at $269 per night. 180 Hamilton Ave., Palo Alto; 650-666-3311 or jdvhotels.com
