You?re working around the clock at Sosh (the startup events app) in SoMa. It?s 7:30 p.m., and you?re famished. Most of the grab-and-go spots in the ?hood are closed, and you don?t have time for a sit-down affair.
G Food Lounge, the new food-truck park under the freeway at Second and Harrison, can alleviate those hunger pangs. Opening for Friday dinner service next week from 5 to 9 p.m., the lounge offers five trucks per night (from a 30-truck rotation), including The Chairman, Roli Roti, Curry Up Now and The Crème Brûlée Cart. It?s like one big Ikea-clad outdoor living room, meaning you won?t have to sit on the curb in the dark next to a lineup of trash bins while you nosh.
Our recommendation: three steamed open-faced bun sandwiches from The Chairman truck--pork belly with pickled daikon, Coca-Cola braised pork with savoy cabbage and spicy chicken with toasted-sesame purée. Wash it all down with an Anchor Steam lager from the forthcoming beer and wine truck courtesy of Barbary Coast Catering.
And no need to worry about being away from your desk for too long. Free Wi-Fi in the lounge is the perfect excuse to order another beer.
