If we have to stuff ourselves inside a photo booth with seven people and pretend to smile behind a faux mustache one more time, we’re gonna lose it.
Thankfully, there is Tomfoolery. It’s a totally customizable open-air (read: no cramming into a box) photo booth that you can rent for your very own fete.
Launched last year by a darling local couple, photographer Edyta Szyszlo and Jared Grellner, Tomfoolery allows you to take unlimited pictures in front of tailor-made backdrops (art deco wallpaper, a life preserver and buoys) while holding unusual props (lassos! trumpets!).
Here’s how to get the photo party started: Begin by choosing a theme and the amount of time (starting at $1,000 for two hours), then pick a backdrop and props from their collection or have the duo design a new one for you. The photos can be kept in an online gallery with free downloads and $1 prints, or you can opt to have 4-by-6-inch collaged images printed within ten seconds on site. They offer a variety of packages to choose from.
Grellner is on hand at every event to set everything up and ensure that your snaps are a success.
