Sow
Sow's Prescription juice

You’ve been to so many holiday parties lately, your head hurts--literally.

The sympathetic folks at Sow are here to help you detox. The year-old company prides itself on seasonal organic juices that are made to order (read: not pre-bottled). They use the freshest produce, herbs and flowers--including rare ingredients like Buddha’s hand citron, a spindly lemon-like fruit--to craft their healing tonics.

In the spirit of the overindulgent season, Sow whipped up a special cure-all juice just for us, replete with ginger to minimize nausea and lemons to help cleanse your liver:

1 apple, cored and chopped
1 orange, peeled and chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 handful of kale
1 handful of spinach
Pinch of parsley
Pinch of mint
1- to 2-inch slice of ginger
1 slice of lemon with the peel

Run everything through a juicer; drink immediately. If you don’t have a juicer, pick up a bottle of Sow’s Prescription, which includes many of the same ingredients; it’s available through Good Eggs and at the Ferry Building Farmers Market on Saturdays.
