A new magazine captures weekend bliss
After a luxurious long weekend like this past one, all we want to do is...extend it. The next best thing just might be cracking open a copy of Weekend Almanac, a compendium of ways to make the most of your Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
This isn’t just any old (new) magazine: For starters, there are no ads, which is especially appreciated at a time when we can barely find the stories buried in September issues. But more important, this publication promotes a lifestyle we can actually, well, live--and boy, do we want to. The pages are filled with gorgeous spreads of leisurely activities like Highway 1 road trips, vintage shopping at the Perish Trust and lounging in cozy pj’s from Lilka.
In the inaugural issue, we adored the Q&A with local surfer couple Erin Kunkel, a photographer, and Danny Hess, co-owner of Woodshop, about their beloved Outer Sunset. We also got behind the roundup of hangover cures (not that we’ve ever had one too many at the Riptide or anything).
The Almanac even manages to make a weekend to-do list, replete with check boxes, seem enticing. Sleep in? No problem.
