If San Francisco had its very own flavor of Ben & Jerry?s, what would it be? It?s an appetizing question that?s even more delicious to answer.
This summer, the ice-cream company is crowdsourcing the people of SF to determine the taste through its City Churned program.
Here?s the scoop: From now until June 30, you can cast your votes for various ingredients in a number of ways. Tagging a photo on Instagram (#ChurnedBySF) at Dolores Park (#DoloresPark) is a vote for Kika?s Treats, while pics tagged at AT&T Park (#ATTPark) count for cookies. Cast a ballot for TCHO Chocolate by checking in via Instagram at a start-up, or check in at a food truck to support peppermint.
Other rhythms of the city will also be taken into account: The number of on-time trains at Powell Street Station become votes for cookie dough, while each punctual train at 12th Street in Oakland is a vote for graham crackers.
Want to participate in the great caramel versus fudge debate? Stop by the Free Scoop truck hitting the streets June 12 through 30 to recycle your spoons in ballot boxes.
Ben & Jerry?s is also inviting SF denizens to suggest names for the new flavor, which will be announced later this summer. You can vote for all the different flavors online too.
