Nothing says TGIF like the food-truck extravaganza that is Off the Grid at Fort Mason Center. Some Fridays, you?re fired up and ready to stand in line for some serious street food. But other Fridays, you?d give your right arm for, you know, a chair.
In its fourth season, OTG offers appetizing new options for both:
Stand Up In addition to 19 crowd favorites like Curry Up Now and Señor Sisig, Off the Grid is introducing 13 new vendors this year. A few highlights, in our humble opinion: The melt-in-your-mouth bacon mochi from Chotto, the Korean fried chicken and waffle sandwich from Bok Ssam, and the gravy-covered sausage poutine from Fins on the Hoof.
Sit Down For the first time, Off the Grid has four heated tents where you can reserve a fixed-price sit-down dinner (around $40) courtesy of one of three pop-up stars. Choose from Azalina?s Malaysian cuisine, Hapa SF?s organic Filipino grub, and new addition the Stag Dining Group, which makes up a mean lamb medallion. Stag is also the brains behind the new mobile bar concept, Derby Cocktail Co., serving boozy snow cones and other drinks while you wait for your table.
Every Friday through the end of October, 5 to 10 p.m.; Marina Blvd. Make reservations for the fixed-price dinner here.
