We all have that one globe-trotting friend whose household possessions equate to an international bazaar: the ottoman she picked up in Morocco, the pottery from her trip to Africa, the carpet she shipped home from Istanbul.

Now you can be that friend--it’s as easy as visiting a new travel-inspired e-commerce destination called Bly.

This is no trip-to-the-mall shopping site: Every two months a collection of curated goods from a far-flung city is unveiled. The one-of-a-kind textiles, artwork and decor are sourced directly from flea markets and street vendors. But it’s the presentation that really makes us swoon.

Vibrant, gritty photographs of each city, taken by talented photojournalists, splash across the webpages. Elegantly presented look books show you how to integrate the items into your home. Snapshots and stories of the vendors bring them to life on your screen.

The woman behind Bly, Rena Thiagarajan, gets to know these craftspeople and the streets of their cities well. The voracious traveler, who grew up in India and moved to SF almost eight years ago, has a keen eye for what to buy abroad.

In the inaugural collection from Mumbai, we went gaga over this original Bollywood lithograph ($200) and this vintage enamel frame ($120). Our virtual shopping bags are packed.
