Julie Chaiken designed her new White line just for you. That would be you and the thousands of other San Franciscan women who she felt needed a fresh, sophisticated take on knitwear.
After nearly two decades of producing polished sportswear for her eponymous company (including her original fashion claim to fame, perfectly fitted boot-cut pants), the local designer wanted to introduce more casual, affordable clothing that reflects her luxe aesthetic and clean lines.
The laid-back label puts an emphasis on comfort, with tanks, tees and dresses crafted from ultrasoft fabrics such as pima cotton and French terry. Chaiken hasn?t sacrificed her trademark flattering silhouettes, though--these items aren?t so soft that they lose their shape.
The rich shades that dominate the line--tangerine and thunder--were chosen because they best complement a white base (hence the name). But some of our favorite pieces feature a subtle ombré effect, the result of a new ?sublime dyeing? technique that creates a more textured look.
Another plus is the price, which ranges from $65 for tees to $168 for dresses. White is available at The Store in Mill Valley and will be sold online starting in mid-March. We?re stocking up now.
