Zelma Rose accessories have a whole lotta heart. And we?re totally falling for them.
The creative designer behind the line, Lisa Anderson Shaffer, lovingly crafts what she calls modern heirlooms: cross-stitch necklaces and bracelets ($50 to $150), lockets ($45 to $95), and for the gentlemen: handsome bowtie boutonnieres ($25) and pocket squares ($42). Based in Marin, she produces everything herself using the old-school skills she picked up from her grandmothers, Zelma and Rose.
Though each item is precious--no two are exactly alike--we have to admit we have our favorites: We?re convinced Shaffer?s zodiac constellations ($75) are the new iteration of the nameplate necklace--they make perfect personalized birthday gifts for close friends. Shaffer loves creating custom pieces too; she recently intertwined two zodiac signs in a necklace for a new mom.
Zelma Rose won?t remain under the radar for much longer: Shaffer was recently named a finalist in Martha Stewart's American Made Awards. If you?d like to meet her, Shaffer is hosting a trunk show at Rare Device on February 9. Be still our cross-stitched hearts.
