Escape with some of SF’s top yoga teachers
Some of SF?s favorite yogis are planning retreats for early 2013 that we'd like to sign up for. Here, three om-azing options from near to far:
A Quick Trip This coming Saturday, Kate Lumsden will lead a daylong retreat at Stinson Beach in conjunction with The Mindful Body (10 a.m. to 6 p.m., $108). Start with a hatha flow class, then enjoy an ayurvedic lunch, restorative yoga with meditation in the afternoon and time for a Mount Tam hike, if you please.
A Real Escape Courtney Harris, who teaches at Aha Yoga and The Pad, and Howard Cohn, also of Aha, are hosting a six-day retreat at Verana in Yelapa, Mexico, from March 23 to 28 (starting at $1,550). Take two vinyasa classes a day under a palapa, eat healthful meals and rest peacefully in the boutique hotel?s hillside bungalows.
An Epic Adventure Follow teacher Erika Trice of YogaWorks all the way to Bali for the ultimate odyssey March 9 to 16. In between classes--which take place on a pavilion overlooking rice paddies--meditate in local temples and take part in rituals of the Balinese New Year on March 12. Accommodations are private villas at a posh hotel ($2,300 for seven nights).
YogaWorks is offering PureWow SF readers a week of free classes at all Bay Area locations through the end of February 2013.
