We?re all about setting manageable goals for ourselves in 2013--namely of the DIY variety. A number of San Francisco creative spaces are offering hands-on workshops that will help you hone desirable niche skills. Here?s what to sign up for this month:

Take Better iPhone Pics Who uses their camera anymore? The crafty folks over at Makeshift Society know that what you really want is to capture more Instagram-able images with your iPhone. On January 8, Sarah Deragon of Portraits to the People will teach ?iPhoneography 101? ($35), in which she?ll share her techniques for taking high-quality iPhone photos. On January 21, she?ll lead a ?201? version of the class that delves into more advanced apps.

Grow a Vertical Garden Terrariums? Been there, done that. The next step in your gardening evolution is to go vertical. At Succulence in Bernal Heights, co-owner Ken Shelf will dispense tips for creating a vertical garden at home, showing how to artfully plant and care for aerial succulents. The cost ($60) includes supplies and plants--the next class will be held on January 13.
