Michael Mina wants to help cook your holiday meals.
The renowned chef and owner of almost 20 restaurants cofounded Cook Taste Eat, a website devoted to showing at-home cooks how to master exceptional dishes and improve their culinary skills. Every week a new meal is debuted, accompanied by seven days? worth of instructional videos cohosted by Mina and singer Michelle Branch--each one leads you through a different step in the cooking process.
Along with the how-to videos, Cook Taste Eat provides you with recipes, timelines and insider tips--like adding ice to your brine. Mina Group sommelier Rajat Parr shares pairing suggestions too.
During December, holiday meals are on the docket. This week?s presentation, designed for Christmas Day, features hay-smoked prime rib with bacon-wrapped potatoes and creamed spinach. And later this month, Mina will team up with Mourad Lahlou of Aziza and Charles Phan of The Slanted Door for special New Year?s Eve and New Year?s Day dishes.
The prime-rib entrée will be on the menus through January 6 at Mina?s restaurants, including RN74, Bourbon Steak and Michael Mina here in SF--so you can taste it beforehand and then see how your own rendition holds up.
