Imagine receiving a delivery of all the seasonal, locally sourced ingredients you’d need to make a recipe from one of SF’s top chefs. For under $30. Sounds like a dream, right?

You can stop pinching yourself now--and order a Chef Market Basket. The smart and sustainably minded people who run Good Eggs have put together these perfectly portioned packages that include everything you’ll need from local farmers markets to make a meal developed by well-known local chefs. Easy-to-follow prepping and cooking instructions are included, cost ranges from $20 to $27 depending on the ingredients, and the dishes easily serve two people.

Following up on the success of a similar market box produced through the Mission Community Market, Good Eggs is now teaming up with CUESA Ferry Plaza Farmers Market to create these baskets. This week’s recipe comes courtesy of Jake Des Voignes of Local Mission Eatery and features black rice risotto with butternut squash, turnip soup and a napa cabbage salad with watermelon radishes and persimmons. Order through this Friday for pick up or delivery ($5) on December 18.

A special Holiday Gift Box ($30) will also be available through Mission Community Market, filled to the brim with some of the Bay Area’s favorite foods, including Emmy’s Pickles and Jams, 4505 Meats and Dandelion Chocolate; order by 6 p.m. today to pick up tomorrow.

That pretty much checks off everything on our list: local food, talented chefs and the perfect hostess gift.
