Dog Day Afternoon
Pooches are welcome at these wine-country hot spots
It seems like everyone in the Bay Area has a furry friend, but there's a surprising lack of places where Fido is allowed. Campgrounds? Nope. Nature trails? Better luck next time. Restaurants? Risk a pet-hater protest.
Thankfully, wine country is a little more lax with pet restrictions. So we've rounded up a few places where both you and the pup can enjoy a drink.
Bardessono The posh hotel’s Lucy Restaurant & Bar offers a special menu for dogs dining on the patio. Think fancy entreés like Natural Balance pet food with chicken and sweet potato. There's also a happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. through the end of October; for $25, get bar snacks and a glass of wine, plus a cookie for your pup. 6526 Yount St., Yountville
Bouchon Bakery Thomas Keller’s casual outpost in Yountville serves up gourmet biscuits--freshly ground cornmeal and wholesome chicken liver glazed with ketchup--for only $1, so your dog can munch away while you sip your cappuccino and savor a kouign-amann. 6528 Washington St., Yountville
V Wine Cellar The Sip and Swirl package includes a private wine tasting on the bistro-style cigar patio, plus treats and water (served in bowls made from recycled wine boxes) for your canine companion. 6525 Washington St., Yountville
