A shopping party where everything is free
Is that a Ludacris record?

Everyone loves a deal, especially in the age of Internet shopping--no judgment for maxing out your credit card on that Céline bag. So when we heard of a shopping event with free goods, we felt it was our duty to share.

On August 21, Score! Pop-Up Swap will take shape as an outdoor night market at SoMa StrEat Food Park. There, you can shop for clothes, accessories, music and art supplies--all of which are totally free.

Here’s how it works: Purchase tickets, bring gently used items you no longer want and then scoop up unlimited goods. It’s like a large-scale version of your best friend’s home clothing swap.

At next week’s event, you might nab a Marc by Marc Jacobs LBD, a candy-colored Kate Spade handbag or a Steven Alan boyfriend blazer. While you’re shopping, why not add some bossa nova records to your vinyl collection? Then head to the art department and look for blank stretched canvases.

Did we mention the charitable bent? Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Hack the Hood, a nonprofit that provides technical training to low-income youth. Plus, any items left at the end of the night will be donated to Goodwill.

5 to 8 p.m. on August 21; SoMa StrEat Food Park, 428 11th St.; heyscoreswap.com
