Sangria is always a party hit, but this summer we’re obsessed with a more sophisticated incarnation: Mission wine bar 20 Spot’s version, made with Spanish grenache rosé.
Designed to bring out the herbaceous and ripe berry notes in the wine, their recipe uses thyme and fresh strawberries with a touch of citrus and sparkling lemonade.
The result is the ultimate pink punch--crisp and refreshing but not too sweet--that’s perfect for bridal showers, birthday parties and fancy summer barbecues.
We convinced 20 Spot’s owner, Bodhi Freedom, to share the recipe with us. And while most rosés would do the trick, Freedom recommends using a Spanish grenache or lighter blush wine from Provence.
