Top spring colors from Lux SF
Keeping up with nail trends feels like a full-time job (if only we could get paid to do it).
Shimmer or matte? Teardrop or square? Lilac or fuchsia?
Lucky for you, we tapped local expert Tracy Brown, owner of Hayes Valley nail salon Lux SF, to give us the lowdown on two trends you just have to try.
Metallic The shinier the better with this nail craze. For a subtler approach that won?t clash with your jewelry, Brown suggests wearing a white opal glitter, like Diamond Heights, over a pansy pink like Conservatory of Flowers.
Neon Not ready to incorporate neon into your wardrobe? Take a baby step and try a bright yellow (like Dolores Park Tennis Courts) on your fingers and toes. Go with short nails in a ?squoval? shape (part square, part oval)--and use a white base coat to make the neon more vibrant. Ensemble-wise, stick to a neutral color scheme so as not to overwhelm.
Lux?s mani-pedi ?Two+gether? services start at $55 and can be booked online. Those toes are looking like they could use a touch-up right about now.
