The inspiration for Chris Burch's C. Wonder could have been a page torn out of ex-wife Tory's sketchpad. His newly opened Soho shop is stocked with cable-neck sweaters ($78), gold-button blazers ($148), suede driving moccasins ($98) and other affordable preppy staples.

First we browsed a handbag collection showcasing pebbled leather wallets ($68) and an array of nylon totes in punchy oranges and blues ($58 to $78), which you can get monogrammed for an additional $8. (We told you the store oozed preppy.)

Around a lime-green-striped corner, the jewelry section houses gold-studded cuffs ($98), gem-toned earrings ($38) and a white chest full of darling silver charms for custom bracelets.

Once we finished outfitting ourselves, it was time for some home decorating. Besides fine fashion, the store boasts vibrant throw pillows, patterned flatware and delicate nesting bowls ($58). We found the perfect accents for our next dinner party in a monogrammed cheeseboard and a hot-pink glass carafe.

With three more stores opening in New York by year's end, and approximately 20 more opening across the country in 2012, it's safe to assume this new lifestyle brand won't be a one-hit Wonder.
