New York City’s first makeup salon
You know Drybar. You love Drybar. You can’t believe you didn’t think of the idea yourself. Well get ready for the next beauty-in-a-jiff game changer.
Introducing NYC’s first makeup bar, Rouge New York.
Started by makeup artist Rebecca Perkins and actress Stephanie March (they met on the set of Law & Order SVU), this makeup salon is an on-the-go gal’s dream. Following the same premise as a blow-dry bar, Rouge New York offers three looks: You...Only Better, which provides minimal polish ($50); Bold Choice, with a slightly smoky eye ($60); and Total Polish, for full-on lips and eyes ($75)--all clocking in at about 30 minutes.
We recently stopped in and opted for an understated, work-ready makeover--but with a bold lash. (Note: Individual extensions are our new obsession.) Perkins started with our eyes, so as not to ruin the foundation later. She gave us some subtle, winged liner; set our expertly attached falsies with plenty of mascara (L’Oréal Voluminous, to be exact); and finished it all off with a touch of blush. We were thrilled with the final result.
Best of all, she didn’t even try to push product on us (unlike at your typical makeup counter).
Our advice? Book an appointment stat (over the phone or online) and welcome the new year with a fresh face.
