Brooklyn, you are so great (has anyone told you?), but you’re no longer the only craft-beer game in town. A new area of NYC is putting its stamp on the scene, and it very well may give Kings County a run for its money.
Uptowners, stand up. Dyckman Beer Co. is here.
Launched this summer by Bronx resident Juan J. Camilo, the inaugural pilsner brew is light, crisp, slightly fruity and goes down almost as smoothly as water. (We swear.) If you’re a fan of Blue Moon and Hoegaarden, this will be right up your alley.
For now, you can find Dyckman on draft at several bars, restaurants and lounges in Inwood, Washington Heights, Harlem and on the Upper West Side and by the bottle at a handful of markets and bodegas.
But why uptown only? Well, for one thing, it is brand spanking new (surely more neighborhoods will follow). But the main reason is that Camilo wanted to share his passion for craft beer with his own neighbors, who are still a bit new to the trend.
Whether you live in the area or just can't deny a Cloisters day trip, it is well worth a pour.
