It Takes a Village
A local CSA for art and design
Scoring that perfect sofa is one thing. Mastering the gallery wall is another. (Finding a happy medium between your sentimental old pieces and inspiring new stuff is trickier than you think.) But a new group is here to help with the latter.
Introducing CSA+D (Community-Supported Arts and Design).
With the same “buy direct, buy local” mentality behind those other CSA guys (community-supported agriculture), CSA+D offers shareholders the chance to sustain emerging artists and receive quality goods.
Becoming a shareholder is as simple as choosing between the two pricing options: $250 for three pieces or $500 for six. Artwork includes paintings, prints and more from an announced list of artists. But here’s where the fun comes in: The exact pieces you’ll receive are a surprise, making CSA+D the most exciting new grab bag out there.
Want to see what it’s all about before committing to shares? Attend the first pick-up event (for current members) on September 21. There, additional pieces will be on sale and October sign-ups will be possible.
Let us know when you nail that gallery wall, though. Asking for a friend....
The pick-up event will be on Saturday, September 21, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Recession Art, 47 Bergen St., Brooklyn; csa-d.org
