If the idea of winter conjures images of black, black and more black, it's time to liven up your cold-weather wardrobe with pops of color--55, to be precise.
The Joe's Jeans pop-up, which is open on Mercer Street for the next six months, offers a hip assortment of weekender bags, shoes and silk basics, and may be the only place on earth with 55 different pairs of colored denim.
The spacious boutique makes the often grueling process of jeans shopping a breeze with soft lighting, figure-flattering mirrors and a friendly staff who encouraged us to experiment with bright colors below the waist.
We began by browsing the Fifty-Five Colors collection, which features Joe's classic skinny jeans in a rainbow of hues. While we never pictured ourselves donning fluorescent pants, we were enamored with the surprisingly slimming neon-yellow "lime punch," cherry-red "chili pepper" and bright-purple "royale" pairs ($158 each).
Those who care to make an even bigger statement than hot-pink pants would be wise to check out Joe's Wild Collection, a tasteful array of five-pocket leopard-print jeans ($138 to $189) that look spectacular with a charcoal turtleneck.
