Treats are $2.25 each, 4 for $8 or 12 for $22. And ten cents of every treat sold is donated to the Food Bank for New York City.
This is a public service announcement: For the love of God, enough about cronuts.
Yes, they’re totally delicious, but let’s give some love to other rising dessert stars around town--like the reimagined Rice Krispies treats that are happening at a new Upper West Side bakery.
Welcome Treat House to the scene.
These crunchy little squares serve up all the nostalgia of a roller-rink birthday party with the frosting and toppings of a cupcake and in upgraded flavors like chocolate peanut butter, red velvet and caramel sea salt. You can even order spherical pops (à la the cake version we know so well), homemade marshmallows and--wait for it--ice-cream sandwiches.
But the biggest difference from the squares you devoured as a kid is that these are made with raw cane sugar (rather than corn syrup) and certified Kosher. Many of the varieties are even dairy-, gluten- and nut-free.
Suddenly you just became the most accommodating hostess--without ever once having to sleep on Spring Street.
