Pulling off a shabby-chic look requires a delicate touch, but when it’s done it well, we can’t seem to get enough. Dearest Anthropologie devotees, we’ve found a new worthy obsession: Gudrun Sjoden.
The colorful, quirky and totally lovable Swedish designer just opened her first stateside shop right here on Greene Street, and although she more than meets any eco-friendly tunic needs you might have, the real reason to pay a visit is for her folksy-chic home wares.
Eye-popping patterns of birds, flowers, leaves, stripes and polka dots (similar to Marimekko but in more muted, earthy tones) come on everything from floor rugs (starting at $185) and doormats ($45) to curtains (starting at $50) and hand towels ($25).
Not entirely sure how to incorporate such bold and, dare we say, quirky pieces in your home? Look no further than the impeccably styled inspiration section of Sjoden’s website for a little help. Just be prepared for the inevitable summer-cabin drool-fest to ensue.
