Beasts of the Southern Wild
The youngest contender ever nominated for Best Actress, Quvenzhane Wallis

This is your official warning: The Academy Awards are less than a month away (February 24). And even if you already checked off Life of Pi and Lincoln, there’s still so much left to see.

Here’s what to catch and where.

Best Actresses Naomi Watts and Helen Hunt have brought serious attention to their respective films, The Impossible (playing at Kips Bay, Lincoln Square, Landmark Sunshine and Clearview Chelsea) and The Sessions (at Lincoln Plaza and Quad Cinema).

Best Short Films The 10th Annual Shorts Weekend features screenings of all nominated shorts (animation, live action and documentary) at the Academy Theater on February 16 and 17. You can also see them at IFC Center, starting on February 1.

Best Documentary Don’t miss the much-buzzed-about How To Survive a Plague at the IFC Center or the Film Society.

Best Everything Else Amour racked up nods for Best Picture, Director, Actress, Original Screenplay and Foreign Language Film (Austria), and is still showing at Film Forum, City Cinemas and Lincoln Plaza. Fellow indie heavy-hitter Beasts of the Southern Wild is also up for a slew of nominations (including the youngest Best Actress nominee in category history). Get tickets for it at Landmark Sunshine or Lincoln Plaza.
