Blake Lively's character Serena van der Woodsen carries Ana Romero's Butterfly Wings iPhone case ($38) in this season of Gossip Girl.
Snobby or savvy--call it what you will, but we New Yorkers get a sick pleasure out of always being the first to know the next big thing. Embrace it: We?re trendsetters.
That said, meet Ana Romero.
The New York-based printmaker and textile designer--whose heavy-hitter client list includes Anthropologie, Crate and Barrel, Macy?s, Nicole Miller and Ann Taylor, among others--recently debuted her own lifestyle collection. And it?s about to blow up.
We?re personally obsessed with her vibrant, graphic iPhone cases ($38). Apparently, so are the stylists of Gossip Girl (Serena van der Woodsen totes around the butterfly-wings style on this current season) and the buyers at Barneys (who commissioned six exclusive designs for the holidays). But Romero also incorporates her watercolor-meets-psychedelic prints on throw pillows ($144), wallpaper ($135 a roll) and silk scarves ($165 to $210), which you can shop directly through her site.
Already a prolific designer, Romero hopes to eventually expand into more product categories like rugs, bedding, linens and china--so when she becomes the next Jonathan Adler, you can say you knew her when.
