Genius idea: Take the model of Fashion?s Night Out and apply it to workouts. That?s exactly what New York?s boutique fitness industry came up with for the inaugural Sweaty Saturday.

This weekend nearly 30 fitness studios (yoga, barre method, spinning and the like) around the city are offering special events within their classes to benefit charity. For example, at SLT you can donate to DJ a class with your personal playlist. Physique 57 will be serving up low-calorie, protein-packed ice cream bars after workouts. And both Pilates ProWorks and Uptown Pilates will be raffling off free private sessions.

As with FNO, each locale offers its own twist on the day. Unfortunately, there isn?t really a centralized schedule of everything to choose from. Our advice: Follow Sweaty Saturday on Facebook for updates, or find your preferred workout from the partner list on the site and call to see what fun things that studio has in store. (Other participating companies include Flywheel, Tracy Anderson Method, Barry?s Bootcamp, SoulCycle, Pure Yoga and Exhale Spa.)

Proceeds from all the locations that day will be donated directly to HealthCorps, the nonprofit wellness organization that combats childhood obesity--giving you even more reason to get moving.
