Out-of-this-world rings from Brooklyn
We're all for jumping on the trend bandwagon, but sometimes it's nice to stand out among the trench-coat-wearing, ballet-flat-sporting crowd.
This spring, we'll let our fingers do the talking with Andy Lifschutz's dramatic cocktail rings. The Brooklyn-based designer makes his expressive creations using sustainably sourced gemstones and reclaimed metals from the U.S., and the larger-than-life rings have a magical, moon-rock quality. Each is crafted by hand using rough-cut chunks of rainbow quartz, pyrite and opal set atop warm bands of bronze, sterling silver and rose gold.
Make a statement with attention-grabbing pieces from the new Nature Speaks collection, like this gleaming Heir to Ancients ring crafted with cobalt-blue quartz ($368), the crystal-clear Next Level reclaimed-yellow-bronze ring ($268) and the medieval-inspired Force le Red opal ring ($388).
Andy Lifschutz jewelry is available online or at the Plaza hotel; the designer also takes custom orders.
