H&M celebrates 10 years of collaborations
Our best shot at acquiring a Lanvin frock or Margiela coat in 2004 was to stumble upon one in a consignment shop. Then, like a gift from the budget-conscious gods, H&M introduced its first designer collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld.
Now, to celebrate a decade of bringing luxury to the masses, the pioneer in the collab game is releasing The First Ten Years, a mega-stylish coffee-table book available in select H&M stores starting November 6 ($35, with 25 percent of proceeds going to UNICEF).
Each of the tome?s 14 chapters is dedicated to a collaboration and features ad campaigns, behind-the-scenes photos and interviews with designers--from Stella McCartney to Donatella Versace to Alexander Wang.
And if you can?t wait until next week, pop into H&M?s Fifth Avenue global flagship store to see its 10 Year Designer Retrospective, an exhibit featuring iconic looks from each collection.
Get the book, see the exhibit before it closes on November 5 and thank your lucky, impeccably dressed stars that H&M and Choupette?s dad teamed up all those years ago.
