Five airport hacks to save your next trip
Get like Clooney.
"Up in the Air"

Fun fact: Thanksgiving is in six weeks. Have you booked your flights yet?

Before you start stressing about rising fares and looming family feuds, here are a few new tidbits to ease the pain this traveling season.

1. Call an UberX at EWR. A yellow cab for $100: ludicrous. UberX has lowered its Manhattan flat rate to $65. It?s certainly not a $16 bus, but it?s definitely the cheapest car option.

2. Get TSA PreCheck. Frequent fliers, why haven?t you done this yet? Make an appointment at the enrollment center (on 35th Street), fill out some forms, pay $85 and never wait in line (or take your shoes off) again.

3. Score Free Wi-Fi. All three airports now offer 30 minutes of complimentary Internet. Whether it?s to fire off some urgent emails or sneak in an episode of The Mindy Project, the time is yours.

4. Take the LIRR to JFK. On weekends, you can now ride the LIRR to Jamaica station (which connects to the AirTrain) for $4. Minutes from Penn Station to JFK: 45. Panic attacks on the Van Wyck: 0.

5. Hop the Q70 to LGA. Goodbye, glacial M60. Hello, Q70 Select. It takes only ten minutes to get to your terminal from the Jackson Heights station (E, F, M, R and 7 trains).
