Learn domestic arts from Brooklyn’s biggest creatives
Your friend just launched a line of all-natural beard oils with her boyfriend. Awesome. You’re now officially the least artisanal one in your circle.
Let’s fix that. Introducing Hands On Studio.
Renowned textile artist Shabd Simon-Alexander founded the studio, which operates out of her solitary north Brooklyn workspace. Each master class is less a “here’s-how-you-do-it” course than an opportunity to share techniques and foster creativity with up-and-coming artisans.
Think: plant foraging with a local garment-maker and making your own beauty products with Gwyneth Paltrow’s skincare guru.
As of now, the workshop schedule is sparse. The next dates are yet to be released, but classes will include cement casting and block printing. In the meantime, email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the mailing list, so you’ll learn about upcoming sessions as soon as they’re available.
Who knows? You just might beat beard-oil-making wannabe at her own game.
