The famous Brooklyn Flea may lose its title as the city's hot spot for vintage treasures: The borough's newest addition, Collier West, is an enclave of home decor, eclectic accessories and one-of-a-kind furnishings--sans the crowds.
Modeled after turn-of-the-century general stores, the shop is brimming with revamped antique finds and curiosities. Owner Suzie West packed up her original Columbus, Ohio, shop for Brooklyn's greener retail pastures just weeks ago, carefully curating the pieces for her new space from artisans nationwide.
Shabby-chic lighting like this white hickory-branch chandelier ($3,800) and twig candelabra ($1,480) cast a warm glow on the exposed brick walls and wooden floors, while homespun Juliska Berry and Thread dinnerware ($18 to $160) and Match pewter martini glasses ($100 each) top the long farmhouse tables.
After perusing the covetable old-world gems and flea-market finds, we made our way to the ornate jewelry section, which features customizable accents like this Heather Moore initial charm ($260) and twinkling Champagne Champion necklace by Pont Neuf ($248).
With finds this special, why bother bargaining at a bazaar?
