Winter may be near, but that doesn't mean we'll be replacing our favorite flowers with dried bulbs and silk petals. Instead, we'll call on H. Bloom, a new subscription-based flower-delivery service, to ensure we have vases of fresh lilies and peonies in our entryway until spring.
Founded by two former software techies, H. Bloom specializes in weekly, biweekly and monthly delivery of fresh arrangements throughout New York. (Service is also available in Washington, D.C., and Chicago.)
Pick from the Classic Collection ($35 a week) for elegant pastel roses and bright Gerber daisies or the Contemporary Collection ($48 a week), which features modern, monochromatic arrangements of yellow daffodils and punchy red tulips. We'll incorporate a little culture into our living room with the Exotic Collection ($65 a week), which combines beautiful orchids and calla lilies from around the world.
Floral aficionados can order a custom creation or make their own bouquets ($29 a week). The loose stems--enough to make two or three arrangements--arrive with an instructional video for inspiration.
Of course, if you know someone who has been particularly nice this year, give her the gift of blossoming returns with a personalized subscription.
