What would New York be without Central Park? Or Gramercy? Or Washington Square?
A solid block of concrete, that?s what.
Green space equals happiness, but you don?t necessarily have to move to the burbs to reap the benefits in your own home.
Hegemone Living Wall Systems is a new service that plants and installs vertical gardens in NYC apartments and office spaces. Owner Gassan Jaffal can craft either a freestanding frame (which can be mounted to any wall, indoor or outdoor) or a portable easel-like structure that you can move throughout your apartment as needed. (One day, it?s a room divider; the next, terrace decor.)
The plants he uses are typically durable succulents that require minimal effort to keep alive. (You will, however, need to water them on a semi-regular basis, so this might not be a great idea for the total black thumbs out there.)
To order or inquire, email Jaffal or call 787-615-9862. Give him a basic description of your space and any aesthetic ideas you may have in mind. He?ll then answer any questions (yes, prices depend on size but start at less than $1,000), set up a time to come visit and start setting plans in motion.
A little slice of Central Park can now be in your foyer.
