Can we vent for a quick sec? Why the heck is work wear so boring? The black pencil skirt, the white button-down, the pants that look like your dad?s pajamas--we?re over it.
And so is Judith & Charles.
The new Canada-based company delivers a fresh take on the modern essentials we normally loathe but really need. And they?ve done it so masterfully that you?ll barely realize that most of their pieces are, in fact, work separates.
Take these cropped pants ($385), for example. Tailored (and, phew, no pleats), these navy trousers entice with oversized but subtle leather pockets. And what?s more chic than a peek of the ankle? We also love their minimalist jackets, like this crepe number ($425) that doubles as a draped blouse. And who could ever feel bland when wearing one of these geometric shift dresses?
The only drawback is that the website displays prices in Canadian dollars (not including duties and taxes for U.S. orders). However, customer service can supply exact pricing info and there's also a brick-and-mortar in New York City, should you be so inclined.
Now excuse us while we add this outfit into our weekly repertoire.
