Even if you don’t live in a part of the country that’s been barraged with ice, snow and so-cold-you-might-cry temperatures, there’s no denying that getting to the gym is tough in the dead of winter. (Particularly when you could just stay home and bake your sixth batch of blondies.)
For folks who still want to get in a workout--without putting on snow boots--there’s FitFusion, a new streaming service that’s like Netflix for workout videos.
For $6 a month, a FitFusion subscription gets you access to more than 100 videos led by big-name trainers like Jillian Michaels and Billy Blanks and ranging from cardio and yoga to Pilates and Doonya (a Bollywood-inspired dance circuit to fast-paced Indian pop songs).
You can stream the workouts on your computer or tablet, but we like that FitFusion is also compatible with Apple TV and Chromecast--meaning you can have the whole Jillian-Michaels-yelling-at-you experience on a real TV in high definition.
We started simple(ish) with a 20-minute kickboxing routine and found it pretty easy to follow along and stay motivated, though we were pathetically huffing and puffing by the end.
It’s a great solution for the housebound exercise buff--or really anyone who’s just home waiting for her blondies to cool.
