The best coats for fall
All good outfits require the perfect finishing touch. This fall, that finishing touch is a topcoat.
No, no. Not your basic denim jacket. We’re talking about a coat that makes just as much of a statement as your embellished sweater underneath. One you want to wear so much, you’re almost OK when the temperature dips into the 50s. Almost.
We’ve taken it upon ourselves to arm you with 30 of the season’s best jackets. And because we realize that not all coats are created equal (or rather, equally warm), we’ve also separated them into sections based upon the weather around you.
Here, a peek at our fashion equations:
Crisp = Blazer Whether you’re going for polished or a tad funky, today’s blazers adopt a minimalist shape and are ideal for when the air just starts cooling off.
Blustery = Bomber The season’s “it” jacket. A little bit jock, a little bit edgy, a bomber is the perfect transitional piece. We’re partial to number nine.
Chilly = Dress Coat We try not to pick favorites, but who can deny the timeless sophistication of a car coat? Add leather sleeves or a belt and commence swooning.
Frigid = Parka Michelin Man fears, begone. This season’s parkas are far from frumpy. Just look at number 27.
