The bottled tea that’s ripe for cocktails
The sun is setting, the breeze is blowing and you’re ready to settle on your porch with an ice-cold cocktail. Sounds amazing, right? Until you remember that requires effort.
Sure, you could have another Skinnygirl margarita. Or you could try something that’s a tad more thirst-quenching, like Owl’s Brew.
It’s a new small-batch line of bottled teas, brewed specifically for cocktails. All you do is pour two parts tea concoction (which is blended with fruits, herbs and agave nectar) and one part alcohol. Add ice, stir and relax.
For now, Owl’s Brew comes in three varieties: The Classic, an English-breakfast tea with lemon juice (perfect with a splash of vodka for everyday porch-sittin’); Pink & Black, a hibiscus-black tea with strawberry and lemon juices (that makes for a no-brainer gin punch bowl); and Coco-Lada, a black tea with chai spices, coconut and pineapple juice (when paired with Champagne, you won’t even remember mimosas).
All are available online and come in a 32-ounce bottle ($16 each), which makes around 16 cocktails. Whether for an upcoming shindig or an at-home happy hour, this is how you do dog-days-of-summer drinks.
