We like to think of Stitch as the love child of crowdsourcing and fashion daydreaming. Founded last year by Harvard Law grad Loni Edwards, Stitch Collective pits emerging handbag designers against one another and asks regular women (i.e., you) to vote on a winner. After seeing a few finished products in the flesh, we were more than impressed--a supple leather clutch almost went missing.
Here?s how it works: Each month, Stitch Collective hosts a design challenge. We had the pleasure of snagging their June spot and thus submitted the parameters for our ideal handbag (one that?s cool enough for commuting but also totally appropriate to tote during cocktail hour).
Last week, designers all over the globe submitted sketches, and today you get to vote for your favorite. The winner will be announced in two weeks, and your PureWow bag will go into production at a top-notch, chichi New York factory. The bag will be available for purchase on the Stitch site within a month.
Ladies, we?re trusting you with this one, so head here to start voting. We can?t wait to meet our new arm candy.
