THE WAY WE WORE
Worishofer sandals make a stylish comeback
Remember those orthopedic kicks grandma used to wear? She was onto something: Worishofer sandals, those thick-soled shoes of old-lady fanfare, have become the style statement of the summer.
Though its history is more shin-splint than sartorially minded--Worishofers were originally designed by a German podiatrist to ease walking pain--we've fallen in love with the brand's chic, updated colors (the ultra-comfy, shock-absorbing soles are appealing on their own, too).
The sandals come in two equally flattering styles: The classic slide ($60) and the sling back ($80). Both versions have adjustable buckles and modest two-inch heels that mold to feet for a "walking-on-air" effect.
Our advice? Invest in a bright-colored pair like red or green: They liven up a T-shirt and jeans, and are nice enough for sundresses (you'll be the only lady at the backyard cocktail party who can mingle in comfort).
While we're glad garter belts and crinolines are a thing of the past, this is one bygone accessory we'll happily resurrect.
