In our circles, the word bespoke has become a little tainted. Yes, we get it: You can customize your perfume, your wallpaper and even your tiramisu.

But sometimes a company comes along with a made-for-you premise so smart and useful, we can’t help but be taken in.

Bow & Drape is such a company. The week-old e-commerce site allows shoppers to choose from a small selection of dresses and separates and then customize them to their liking. In other words, it’s clothing they design and you perfect.

Begin by taking a simple height and body-type assessment (this will help when it comes time for the team to actually sew your garment). Next, browse the 10 basic B&D dresses, jackets and skirts, which take their names from iconic women--the Jackie ($189), the Twiggy ($155), the Michelle ($189), etc.

Once you’ve settled on a piece, you can choose a color, trim (hurrah for gunmetal beading!) and fabric (cotton sateen, silk crepe de Chine or ponte knit), adjust things like neckline, length, and sleeves, and even add a cute little peplum.

The price goes up with each alteration, but we think it’s well worth the extra cost to create a totally unique and exclusively-for-you wardrobe staple.
