An app that syncs music across devices
We love listening to music and podcasts on our iPhones, but that tiny little speaker isn’t exactly booming.
One solution, of course, is to plug your phone into a bigger speaker system. For less formal surround sound, however, we’re digging Seedio, a handy new app that allows you to sync multiple iPhones and iPads (sorry, Android users) so they can play the same music at the same time.
Upon downloading the app ($3) to all the devices you want to use, select one phone to be the “broadcaster.” Create a playlist on the broadcaster phone by pulling from your music library or YouTube. Then press play and behold as all the Seedio-enabled phones jam out in sync.
For the process to work, all of the devices (you can connect up to five) need to be on the same WiFi network and have the app installed. That said, we love that only one device--the broadcaster--has to have the playlist downloaded.
Moreover, the app just works really well. We linked a few iPhones and had a blast listening in tandem, both out loud and over our headphones.
Joining forces has never sounded so good.
